With the Cricket season now complete, Years 7 - 10 have started their respective House Cricket campaigns this week. The A team competitions will culminate in two exciting days of cricket next Wednesday and Thursday on the school field - everyone is welcome to watch. We look forward to seeing you there!
Congratulations to everyone who has represented Reading School this summer in athletics and cricket, with a few fixtures left to go, weather permitting, this week. Our athletics team finished 5th this evening in the final session of the year, with our U15 team finishing as runners up in the T20 Vase on Monday.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the two 1st XI vs. Parents fixtures on the front field over the last couple of Friday nights. Both games were very enjoyable and hopefully we will be able to run a similar event this time next year.
Everyone's invited to come and watch a strong parents team take on the Reading School 1st XI side. Feel free to bring a picnic and support either side. In particular, thanks to everyone taking part for their support.
If you can't make tomorrow's game (16:30 start), there will be another match next week at the same time. Please note that tomorrow's cricket fixtures have been cancelled to poor weather conditions.
Congratulations to our U12 and U15 cricket teams, which both won their first round county cup fixtures this week - Once Wednesday's results against Oratory School have been confirmed, this week's results will be added to the website.
This weekend, we take a break from the cricket and instead compete in the National Schools Badminton Championships. Our KS4 team will be taking part today, with our KS3 team taking part tomorrow. Good luck to everyone involved! Please note that the U14A fixture tomorrow has been cancelled. The U12A fixture will go ahead as planned.
Almost 60 fixtures for next term have been finalised, with a total of 10 teams participating. All of the details for these can now be found on the Fixtures and Calendar pages.
Thank you to everyone who has represented the school this term, and we look forward to another great season of sport after the Easter break. April is here and more cricket fixtures have been pencilled into the calendar. These include several new mid-week fixtures, including games for our U13B and U12B teams. It is expected that the school's final fixture list will be confirmed early next week, at which time these new fixtures will be added to the fixtures page.
Please note that due to the high number of mid-week fixtures that the cricket season is known for, games may be rearranged at short notice. Congratulations to our two Reading Lacrosse Teams, with the 1sts coming third and the 2nds coming fifth at today's Southern Flags Finals!
Also, a huge thank you is due to everyone who has represented the school throughout the course of the football season. Though all of the regular fixtures have now been completed, our superb cup progress across the six county competitions means that both the U13s and U14s will have at least one more game. Meanwhile, a full list of cricket fixtures for next term are now available on the Fixtures and Calendar pages. Don't forget that a full list of fixtures complete to the end of this academic year, including any County Cup fixtures, are available on both the Fixtures tab and the Calendar page.

For the first time, inter house cricket for A teams will be split over two days instead of one, with each day lasting from 9:00 until 15:00. The A team results will be mixed with those of the B and C teams, so that the winners for each year group are determined. In the Year 10 competition, the absence of B and C teams means that the winner of the competition will be determined by the number of A team matches won. Two matches will take place at a time on the front field, with one on the main pitch and the other on the pitch near to Music School.
Fixtures (all matches consist of ten overs per innings):
Competitors must register during form time - competitors for the morning session should start to get ready from 8:30, and competitors for the afternoon session should start to get ready from 11:30. Students that are not involved will be allowed to at least watch their own year group play, but these students must register first with their teacher - this includes at the start of period 2. All fixtures tomorrow have been cancelled due to the bad weather.
Provisional Cricket Fixtures for next term can now be seen below. All of these are yet to be confirmed, and Cup draws have not yet been released. Additional fixtures and details may be added at a later date - a further update on these should be available a couple of weeks into next half term.
A series of Pre-Season Cricket training sessions will be taking place this half term. All sessions will be taking place in the Gym at Lunchtime (13:20). All of the sessions are open to all year groups. The following is a list of upcoming sessions:
Full Winter Nets will begin after Half term - more information will be given during the sessions listed above.
